Being an iOS developer is an amazing job, but it has its downsides. One of thee biggest pain points that both junior and senior developers have in this space is managing Xcode.

We are all waiting on the new Xcode version to drop and try out new things, but installing it, or updating is just a mess. But, not to worry, the iOS community is awesome, and there is a tool named Xcodes, that helps you with just that. Let me show you how this simple tool works.

First, you can go to https://www.xcodes.app/ and download either the GUI or the command line interface, depending on what you prefer. The download button will take you to GitHub, and once you download it, go ahead and unzip it.

When you open Xcodes you will see this window:

Clicking the refresh button, will fetch the new Xcode updates. You can try that now, just to make sure you have the latest versions available.

All you need to do is click INSTALL now, and you're good to go. You can have multiple Xcode versions, you can even install or uninstall Platforms, like iOS, iPadOS etc.

And that's all! With just a couple of clicks you can manage all your Xcode versions, and new versions will never cause you headaches again. Well, maybe they will, but not the installing part.
